Improving playground behaviour

This course lasts around 60 minutes and is for all staff who supervise children at break/lunch time. We like to timetable this session so that staff are trained WITH the children in the course of the day but we can also work to your schedules.

The training combines learning correct safety procedures with the art of proper rope turning ie. in long rope games or Double Dutch, as well as partner and/or team games, and encourages a more proactive approach to improve participation in the playground by enabling your staff to pass on valuable titbits of skipping know-how.

Cost: £14.00 per member of staff, or £70.00 for 6 - 20 participants.

After-school skipping

After a day's skipping coaching, we work with a group (minium of 15) who want to boost their skipping skills.

In an effort to establish skipping as a family activity, we also encourage parents to attend with their child/ren if they can; all are welcome, from novice skippers to advanced skippers. Groups will undertake a range of skills from individual single rope skills to partner skipping to team games and we'll even try to get mum, dad or grandma skipping in the double dutch ropes!

Cost: £ 2.00 per participant, or £1.00 with accompanying parent @ £1.00.

Teaching the basics

A 60-80 minute session where we encourage teachers not only how to have a go at skipping but primarily, we teach how to teach children how to skip properly. We'll cover the basic steps, address health & safety issues, we'll tackle skipping with children who need extra help to get started in skipping, and we'll offer some ideas on how to use our Scheme of Work in PE lessons, skipping clubs etc. Participants will leave the sessions inspired and having enjoyed some games and a few laughs as well!

Cost: £14.00 per member of staff, or £70.00 for 6 - 20 participants.
